Little Joys & Dirty Baseboards

to say that life is chaotic right now would be an understatement -- not all bad chaos, but chaos nonetheless. everyone in our household is going about a million miles an hour with to dos/feeling all the emotions as we get down to the wire with the move. we're nearing being only two weeks out (eek!) and it's really starting to sink in. we're getting so excited! we're also doing our best to take lots of deep breaths and give many extra measures of grace to each other when the exhaustion/busyness/all the feelings get the best of us. laughing as much as we can in the midst of the current state of things (quite literally feels like a circus around here 99% of the time right now) is getting us through, and we’re having a lot of fun/simultaneously feeling like we could sleep for 24 hours straight if given the chance. I'm currently sitting on the couch in a living room with no other furniture except for a lamp on the floor, looking at boxes and piles of laundry and very dirty baseboards that have revealed themselves now that the furniture is gone. as someone who really thrives on my surroundings being clean and in order, this is definitely a challenge. but i must say, nothing excites me more than the opportunity to start fresh and decorate a new space! channeling all my "what in the world is the state of our house right now" energy into "let's mood board every room in the new place" energy.

some little joys in the midst of the chaos:

this essential oil blend.

a friend graciously letting you borrow their blow up pool to survive a 110 degree day.

this wonderfully enormous bag of coffee (we're loving the altentejo blend).

watching lennon look at this book for days on end.

making mood boards. never done this before but having so much fun with it as I dream up decor for our new place.

these pajamas.

drinking water out of this tumbler. just got these for our entire family and they are surprisingly enjoyable to drink water out of, ha!

reading this book with the girls.

this bleach. saving our clothes one ice cream stain at a time (because we're in survival mode around here and there's no limit right now when it comes to ice cream).

this kid's soap - it. smells. so. good.

this body oil - it. smells. so. good.

getting all the inspiration from this book and this book.

family prayer time before bed.

this chai latte. (save with SITCB15!)
