Love You, Lovevery.

People often ask me what the girls’ school situation is - are they in school? What do we do for schooling if not? We decided to keep everyone home while we're here, rather than starting school in NYC and potentially uprooting in a couple of years (we see ourselves likely ending up back on the west coast when Michael graduates). It’s been such a good decision for everyone - we’ve been able to really soak up the city without the time constraints of full-time school, we have a lot of flexibility when it comes to the things we’re able to get the girls involved in, and most importantly we've been able to continue to foster the girls’ relationships with each other in a really special way. We feel so grateful to be able to walk through this season of our lives this way.

That being said, our girls are very eager to learn - it wasn’t before long that Lennon was asking about school, reading, etc. We could tell that she needed something intentional put in place, so we started incorporating some homeschooling into our day to day. It hasn’t been anything to rigorous or time consuming, just more intentionally taking advantage of opportunities for learning with the support of following a curriculum pretty loosely. I used to teach first grade way back when, and I feel super grateful for that experience and how it’s lended itself to the girls’ learning at home.

I quickly realized that while Lennon was doing school, Georgie and James were going to need something to focus on at least for a few minutes (or else no one would get anything done! parents, you feel me. ) — enter Lovevery. These toys have quickly become some of the girls’ most beloved ones. They are so engaging, stimulating, and have very helpfully kept them occupied in an intentional way while I do school with Lennon. I love seeing the ways they are learning and playing with these toys - one of my favorite things about them is that they’re specifically designed with their ages + developmental needs in mind. The furthest thing from a distraction! Lovevery toys are really special and have given us all a chance to intentionally focus on learning together.

xx
