Central Park Play withBitte

living near Central Park (and living in 600sqft for that matter) means getting outside as often as possible. we’re still wrapping our minds around the fact that we have about 100 playgrounds within blocks of us. the playground world is our oyster and you can imagine how the girls feel about this. they are HYPED. and honestly, same here. nothing like a good playground to give mama a second to get some fresh air and not be a source of entertainment! can’t believe someday I could maybe be that mom reading a book or doing something leisurely at the playground while her big kids play. *sigh* until then, I’ll be watching daredevil georgie like a hawk on the too-tall play structure because she’s fearless and almost gives me a heart attack every time we're there. I digress. :)

if you’ve been following me for any amount of time, then you know how big of a fan I am of Bitte. I remember shopping online there before Lennon was born living in Austin, TX, then realizing it was local to Sacramento (where we moved right after Lennon was born) and being so excited, then got to meet Maia (the owner of Bitte who is an all around lovely person/business owner/mama), and was even more excited when she opened a brick and mortar in Sacramento! this was not so great for our bank account, haaa. but was such a treat to pop in, shop around, and chat with Maia. it feels really special to be able to work with her/share her shop with you guys!

in light of all the outdoor time we get at Central Park, she was kind enough to send over a little outside play care package for us. we’ve been using these Bitte goods nonstop, and if you have toddlers then you need to add these things (and everything else in her shop - she has impeccable taste) to your cart immediately.

chalk and sand toys are nothing revolutionary, but in true Bitte fashion, these are just straight up cute. the chalk is fun and classic and comes in a very cute reusable tin - perfect for storing in your stroller or bag and cute sitting on your shelf, too! I love that these Saturday Baby sand toys are rubbery/not plastic (wouldn’t hurt if they got thrown at anyone's head -- oh, the things that become important when you have kids).

(georgie’s hair clips are from bitte also, and maia carries these cute les gamins leggings too. perfect for play!)

we’ve also been loving thumbing through the book “the nature of play.” it’s an adorable book with lots of ideas for seasonal crafts and activities. I’m always looking for craft ideas for the girls, and love that these are all connected to nature in some way. the girls are always foraging (using these little leather purses, or as they call them, their “treasure bags”) and this book can help us come up with creative ways to use their treasures. planning on making the autumn leaf mobile with the girls soon!

As always, use the code SUMMERSINTHECITY15 to get 15% off your purchase at Bitte. thank you Maia for loving on our kiddos and getting us outside! we're your biggest fans.
